If apple could create an operating system that was impossible for even them to unlock through encryption would you support it or do you support a Government backdoor to ALL handheld devices?

Apple already has created a system that even they "can't" break -- it's just not on the 5c

"Can't" : there's really no such thing. When you have physical access to a device and enough knowledge, you'll eventually get in. Ars did a nice write-up on some of the several options
