    Xfinity Internet only

Anyone with Comcast triple play reduce their service to just internet? I'm out of contract now, but would like to get the bill to $100, or less. Paying $175 currently.

      25mb $40
      75mb $50
25mb with hbo and i think its just locals for $60

might have to cancel and resign up.

assuming comcast is the only option?

Seems like Comcast is the only game around here in San Jose other than ATT Uverse which I have no interest in. I just wanted to see if there was anyone that actually cut their service down to just internet while being a long time customer. I realize I'll have to beg off like a pauper, likely they'll want to keep me in the "triple play". Only way to know is to call them and spend an hour on the phone it seems. Bottom line is– we have excellent OTA HD. I have an antenna 25 feet up and get all the local channels with very good quality. We have the Roku and Chromecast and a Channel Master DVR+ for everything else that we want. So just need fast broadband.

You will probably have to cancel and resign. Comcast is weird about how they handle changes to service, even for businesses.

quit and start streaming from netflix or ....eveything you want is out there. get HD antenna for local if you dont stream your local.

most of the time they want you to not be a cust for 12months or more to get the new subscriber pricing.

For the extra $40 bucks, I keep the triple play and just go in once a year and threaten to drop everything. I can always get them to give me one more year at the $99 price

I haven't had cable TV in years, it's a rip off. Between Netflix and Kodi, plus my DVD and Blu-ray collection, I'm good for entertainment. I only subscribe to cable Internet with Comcast and they're very good for that. It's the fastest in my area, I can get up to 150 Mbps, but only have 75 Mbps at the moment and it's fast enough for most.

I concur with getting your own cable modem and save on the rental fees. Plus the modems they install are complete crap. But a Motorola / Arris SB6121 or better and you'll have much better performance and reliability.

When my contract ends , I disconnect my service and find an offer online and sign up for it then contact them to activate my equipment (router +modem) , just give the the S/N and Mac #.try this trick .

I did it for a few years once. No big deal. DSL didn't work in my area... had direct TV when I started (and eventually went internet tv only)... also have a magic jack phone... so internet only.

We have comcast 10mb only service $29 a month. ATT wont install u verse service in our neighborhood. DSL was only 2.5 mb so all ATT service went away.

OP- I switched our comcast triple whatever to just internet. We have 25mbps + "boost" or whatever, and after taxes and shenanigans its about $70. Our cable tv/phone/internet bill reached $260 with no premium channels... we've been happily streaming ever since! Also, to keep the home phone that was 99% spam calls was $80 a month... Cell phones ahoy!
