Amazon Echo/Dot/Tap

So the elusive Dot is only available to Prime customers for a limited time.

Anyone else getting one? I have an Echo in the bedroom and though this would be great in the front room hooked up to a surround system.

TAP ordered.

After reviewing several blue tooth speakers such as the Pill, the TAP had the most value to me, especially with the ability to pair it with a DOT and make one ECHO.

Another great feature is that it can pair with wifi directly and can stream music without a need for a phone.

Got the TAP. Nice it came with a 9W charger.

Also, there are some dumb asses on Amazon who are disappointed to find you need to "tap" the Tap to activate the voice recognition function.

Tempting, but I can already see my 2.8 (aka Lil mofo) son tossing that in a bucket of water.

I have the Echo and I love it. I want to get the tap but then I found a DIY Amazon Echo and I'm going to give this a try.

Got the Dot. Trio complete.

Overall, Alexa is still queen. The others have their niche. The Dot is nice as a second Echo. Never as a first choice.

The Tap is nice due to it's battery and portability. The problem with the Tap is a small sound compared to other BT speakers. The Tap also does not have the ability to pair with the voice remote like Echo and Dot. This is much needed. The last big plus to the Tap is that it is a stand alone music center with no smartphone needed.

The echo speaker is pretty weak,but it slows you too hook it up to an aux input.. which is why I bought it.

Sorry for the late response....but your talking about the Dot correct? I got it to hook up with my home stereo to up the smarts to my home theater system.

Also it seems kinda cumbersome, but I can also pair the Dot's microphone with the Tap's speaker and create almost a complete Echo.

Sidenote...The main use of my Tap so far has been a bluetooth tv speaker for my firestick tv.
