Voice-to-text software/app suggestion

Hi all,

I am going to need a voice-to-text software/app for the subject interview portion of my school project. Someone already told me about Dragon, but from what I understand it doesn't have much tolerance of accent (which is not good for me because many of my interviewees have accent). Any suggestions? Thank you.

Most speech to text programs do well when "trained" to a specific speaker and with a particular microphone level. With different speakers and also ambient noise they do not perform that well.

I have Dragon and it actually worked better than I thought with others. depends on the interview time and amount of data - if you get 50-60%, it's much faster to edit. You can also cheat by putting on headphones, then respeaking what was recorded in the interview. That got me to about 95%.

On my smartphone I have an application called

"swipe + Dragon"

It of course comes with lots of languages that it can understand and even an automatic language one where you could speak several language is and it would still probably get most of what you're saying.

it's not perfect because the technology just is not 100% perfect yet but I thought it worked better than the Dragon application alone on my phone that I tried first.

additionally has the feature of "swiping" (Where you just move your finger around from letter to letter without leaving the keyboard and even if you're close to the word it'll print it.) on the keyboard instead of hunting and pecking but I never really use that.
