MS Outlook deleting emails before I can open them

I thought I had solved the problem by actually catching one of the emails and telling Outlook that the domain was OK (don't remember how I did it).

But, I never see emails from this particular sender unless I am using the PC and click on the notification box to open the email.

If I am too slow, it is toast and I never see it.

Is there a way to see and remove any settings that make that sender's emails get dumped?

You still use Microsoft Outlook for emails!? If it is only happening to a particular sender then your filter must be seeing it as spam?

Two things. First check the junk email settings under Options-->Preferences. Second, check your rules and alerts settings under Tools.

That path did not work for me, but I added the sender's domain to my trusted list.
I also found that my alternate email receives duplicate emails, so I still get the messages.

That doesn't stop me from being frustrated that Outlook would permanently delete a message without my say so.

Everything tagged as junk by my junk list is saved in the junk folder so I can at least review it.

Was it the rules and alerts you couldn't find? I'm not sure which version of Outlook you have, but it's likely there's a rule set up to delete certain emails immediately. Otherwise, Outlook generally doesn't delete anything on its own.

sure it isn't your view being set to something weird? Double check it is set to sort by By Date on it's tab above the email window. If it's not that; 2013 has a reset view option. You might try it.

Really weird. I have only seen that before on a MAC and it was due to issues with wifi.

disable all the rules you can even disable the spam filter and test it if that user will send you test email.

I only see the notification pop-up in the corner of my screen.

If I am quick, and click on it, the email opens.

If I am too slow, it is GONE.
Not even in the deleted folder.

It's like a Mission Impossible message, it self destructs.
But I get the messages fine at Yahoo mail.

I don't have any rules when I look at the rules list.
And the sender is not on the spam list (and spam goes to the spam folder anyway.)

One more thing to check. In your view menu, under current view, make sure you're not set to Unread Messages in This Folder. BTW, are you using Exchange or is this just Outlook used on a personal computer?

It is Outlook on a PC.
And I reset the view to default.

Any chance your anti-virus/anti-spam program integrates into Outlook and is acting badly?

                            I doubt it.
I changed anti-virus programs after the problem started and nothing changed.

The new program actually does less with emails than the old one.
