    2560 x 1440 Resolution - 25" LCD

This may or not be helpful to some who may be in my predicament, but thought I would offer up some comments on a monitor I just bought.

I have always wanted 2560 x 1440 resolution for the extra screen real estate it provides, but did not want the huge 27" display this resolution is most often found in. I cut out cardboard sheets to mimic the size of the Dell U2715H UltraSharp I was considering, and it is BIG. At least for my viewing distance it was.

So, I took a chance on the Dell U2515H. Same as the 27", including resolution, but in a 25" size. I am glad I did. It fits on my desk, and I can see everything without the feeling one gets as if sitting the front row of the theater. BUT, text IS small. Perhaps too small for some. But, due to the very tight pixel pitch (about 8% tighter than the 27" in same resolution), it is very sharp, making the small text quite readable. And images look great. I do mostly text work, and while worried about the small text size, I can use it without scaling, although depending on the app, I might scale things up to 125%.

It is likely you will not find a 25" 2540 x 1440 display in a store. I tried. I took a chance, and I am pleased. If you can't handle a 27", perhaps the 25" may work better for you without having to step down to 1920 x 1080 (or 1920 x 1200) resolution.

Nothing wrong with 1920x1080. Still looks great to most people. Grabbed a 23" IPS monitor for $99 less than a month ago. To each his own.
God may have made men, but Samuel Colt made them equal.

Send me pics of your: Colt Detective Special, AMT Hardballer, pre-64 Winchester Model 70. I'm looking for them.

Id suggest this Phillips Monitor. Bought mine 7 months ago, its big but the picture is crisp and allows me to use it as 3 monitors. Im sitting maybe 2 ft from the screen with no issues. I also game on it and it seems to work well. its 60hrz at 4K using the display port.

1440 used to be standard. Then 1080"hd" came out and manufacturers started mainly making 1080 lcds. I have had a 1440 24inch for years before the big switch to 1080. And I love it. It's so much better of a screen. 1080 is just too short of a ratio for computers.

You made a good choice, and to fix screen text scale up icons/text in windows if needed solves the small issue.

2560x1440 is still 16:9. You may be referring to 1440x900, which is 16:10. I tend to prefer panels with the 16:10 aspect ratio, but unfortunately ever since the industry shift to 16:9 they are really only found on higher end monitors. When I got tired of my 24" 1080p monitor, I picked up a 27" 1440p. I have no issues reading text, so I keep the DPI scaling at 100%. For those that have trouble reading the smaller text, the DPI can always be increased.

Ops, I am definitely not talking about 1440 by 900. What I have is 1920 1200 and 2560 x 1600 both 16:10 I belive. Sorry for the confusion there! Combine the numbers in my head the wrong way.
