For a few years I've been using Windows 7 Pro & a Logitech mouse. I've noticed the past few weeks my mouse pointer slows to a crawl when I pass over icons on my desktop or go over links on a web page. Tried making changes to Mouse app via control panel but nothing has changed. Any suggestions?

1. try different usb port.
2. if wireless, change the sensor usb stick to a better location.
3. if its wireless, change batteries for both keyboard and mouse.
4. try a new wired/wireless mouse and see if same problem occurs. -
Tried a different USB port for the sensor stick - didn't help (connected to USB on computer 18" away from mouse).
Changed batteries to mouse. Didn't help.
Changed batteries to keyboard. Surprisingly, that made a difference. Still drags a bit but noticeably better.
Thanks!.

It's not so much about the distance. The obstruction is a factor as well. For example: If your USB stick is in the back of the computer and your computer is under your desk with a mouse and keyboard on top of your desk.
The method above would be inefficient.
The USB stick facing or pointing to the keyboard and mouse on the same plane or level would be the most efficient.Comment

I am not sure what you mean by slows to a crawl.
So like, when you move your mouse over certain icons it tends to STICK to them and barely moves? Like it is attracted to them and wants to stay there?
Sounds like a software issue. Do you use CCleaner? I am wondering if this is tied to the context menu.
Be a bit more descriptive about this issue please.
Hmmm. Yeah, one thing that will lag a mouse is the placement of a receiver for the wireless kinds. Two ways to check that. 1. Get a USB extension cable and put the receiver right there with nothing blocking or two, GET A WIRED MOSE and see if it has the same issues.
Mose. I like that. I do not use wired moses. hehehe. All of my mice are usb. No wireless things here. Wireless are for clean offices and people that call themselves professionals.7 Billion people on the planet. They aint ALL gonna astronauts. Some will get hit by trains...
