    3d printer advice

I want to get one for my wife for xmas. She builds a lot of dollhouses and i think she would get good use out of it. Whats the best values out there? i want to spend less than 500. Thanks!

Im using Robo3d. Its not a bad printer but it does have a slight learning curve to it. I printed a bunch of stuff with little issues but I found some things it will not print or will have a hard time printing. Its probably due to the software it comes with. You can get other software for it, some is free some is paid. Its $699, I know that more than you want to pay but it comes fully assembled. I know Frys Electronis used to sell a 3d printer for $499 but it required you to assemble it including wiring it up. I dont think I have ever seen any 3d printer for under 500 but then again, the last time I looked, it was a few years ago.

      $349

Don't know if it's any good.

Your budget is a little light I am afraid. At this budget its more of a gadget to tinker with vs. something that works when you go to print something. Unless she has an interest in tinkering I would skip it.

Also, does your wife have an interest in designing things in a 3d modeling software? If not I would avoid this, unless you can design your own stuff it won't get much use once the novelty wears off.
