    Buffering ??????????

Need some help from the knowledge of the CalGun computer experts.

Every time I click on a video (you tube for instance) either on this site as well as the internet I get a little wheel going around and it says waiting. This happens all the time. Finally when the video starts it almost always goes back to this buffering mode several times. This has just started in the past month.

Any help would be much appreciated!.............Thank you.

That's almost always a sign that your internet connection is slow. Most videos won't run until a certain amount of the data has downloaded to your computer (buffering). If your connection is slow, the time for buffering is longer.

And, if your connection is erratic, the computer may say, "OK, I've got enough data now so I can play the video", but then, part way through it finds that the remaining data is not arriving to the computer fast enough and the video will then be stopped until it's got more of the data downloaded.

Run a speed test on your computer. This is one of the most popular:

Use Speedtest on all your devices with our free desktop and mobile apps.

Note your results and report back.

Play the video and pause it to allow the full video to load, you should see the timeline bar grow

I tried that, but it asked me what program did I want too open it with. Gave me about 8 choices, picked a few but nothing happened. As you can probably tell I'm not tech savvy. Thank you anyway.

I would open internet explorer and past that link into the browser.

If your computer asks you what to open a link with, I would run a to of malware removal programs.

I would start with www.trendmicro.com and run their free house call to scan your PC.

Then Go to bleeping computer.com and download Super Antispyware, ComboFix, Malware bytes antimalware and run each to find and remove crapware, a potential cause of your problem. Disable any antivirus software while doing these scans.

if i pause it will generally buffer up a minute or 2 but not any more i think the new updates have stopped that for bandwidth
