Apple plans to unveil iPad Pro, iPad Mini 4 at iPhone event

I'm finally ready to upgrade my I-phone 4. I also may finally get an I-pad pro.

What's your Apple-internal source? Or are you quoting the rumor sites?

Wouldn't surprise me if they've been paying careful attention to Surface Pro, and come out with an i5/i7 tablet that runs full MacOS.

hard to imagine why though. ios is already widely used in professional environments such as hospitals, warehouses, etc.

apple is all about design and looks, they dont focus on productivity. i would be blown away if they increase the thickness and weight of their ipads even with the designation "pro" behind it.

if they were to do anything "pro" with their ipad, i would think it is increasing the size of the screen like the galaxy series to a 12 in model. even then though, the increased weight would be a factor and apple doesnt really own the market on their screen clarity and dpi.

yup, looks like i was lucky in guessing.

Apple’s September 9th event is set to be one of the company’s largest events in history, as is reflected by the expansive size...

"As for the iPad Pro, codenamed J98/J99 internally, the larger-sized tablet will be geared toward power users and run iOS 9.1, support a Force Touch-based stylus, and include speakers on two sides for a more pronounced stereo effect. The new iOS 9.1 operating system is said to bring additional tweaks to the iPad Pro, including optimized versions of the Siri and Notification Center interfaces. If Apple does indeed unveil the new iPads next week, another Apple event this fall can be ruled out."

the stylus would work out well for hospitals in particular. one of the projects i ran for a few hospitals in the bay area were centered around electronic medical and health records. doctors would select menu items, radio buttons, etc on patient forms in a digital format on their panasonic toughbooks rather than write them out with a pen and paper on their chart. the new stylus would assist in this greatly.

I really shouldn't be reading this thread at work, now that I think about it.

They will have to pay attention, Samsung taught them big screens phones sell and Surface 3/4 will teach them 2 in 1 sell better as well. I have seen staunch MBA fans moving to Surface 3, iPad is not even in that category

I've been using a Surface Pro 3 for about 3 weeks now and I love it. I won't be going back to a full size laptop anytime soon. It's a perfect match for Widows 10. It's nice to just take one device when I travel.
