took apple long enough - iPhone 5c wifi

would never connect to my network using 802.11n and asus rt-n56u using wpa encrption. my galaxy s4 connects seamlessly. i did static dhcp and no assigned static dhcp.

but... it would connect at starbucks, work, etc.

it got an update today from apple and finally, it connects to my network now. not that i really needed it. company cel phone.. minimal data plan usage from my side. just annoyed it took them long enough to fix a problem.

on top of that though, they removed the status bar at the top that shows battery life, bluetooth, etc. it disappears very quickly. you'll have to swipe down or up to see it. wtf????

i'm glad i'm not paying for an iCrap phone.

Weird, that status bar didn't go away when I updated to 8.4

Do you by chance have T-Mobile?

What EAP protocols are you supporting on your wireless access point?

I have been supporting wifi on a major university since 2001, and specifically the authentication for wifi since 2007. Anytime there is any issue with an end point device associating to a wpa network, it's typically some EAP related issue.

Status bar isn't gone, every update or hard power reset it defaults the settings. You have to manually switch it back

It's not permanently gone. But it'll disappear quick after maybe 1 second. only way to see it again is swipe up or down. but i press home again, it'll only show up 1 sec and then disappear. I'll have to dig in settings how to make it permanent.

now it's weird.... i restarted just now to see and it's there back again unlike yesterday after the upg. grrrr

If you played a part in changing CSUEB to 802.11ac and getting rid of that awful Web login, thank you.
