FiOS ac router w/ nvidia shield

I have the FiOS g1100 router. It is .11ac. My phone connects to the router on ac. I have other devices that connect on ac. The shield console only connects on .11n.
The router is ac1750 class. The shield is 2x2 mimo if that makes a difference.

The n connects at 150mbps which is more than my internet connection. But, i would like to connect at ac speeds just because.

    Any ideas?

I looked it up and 802.11n (2x2) with a 20MHz channel width has a max rate of 130-144 Mbps while a 40MHz channel width has a max rate of 300 Mbps. 802.11ac (2x2) has a max rate of 867 Mbps.

The connection from my phone to router via ac is 433mbps. Im guessing my phone is 1x1

That is the max rate for 802.11ac (1x1), but a realistic rate would probably be around 300 Mbps or so. A realistic rate for (2x2) is around 550 Mbps or so.

My mistake. I thought the shield was an n class 2x2.
