    Have you made an app?

    Hey guys
I have a couple app ideas and I would really love to learn how to do this. I've started with some basic online research.

I am interested in the opinions from those that have done it. Also it looks like I can either use swift code and start from the ground up or I can use a third part website and build the app. Wondering your opinions on which approach is better. I am leaning towards the website approach right now to get things started, also I don't have a mac which looks like is required to code on swift.

    Thanks

Wrote a "Hello world" app in xcode in about five minutes & ran it on the simulator. Seemed easy enough, but never delved into it any deeper.
This was done on a mac mini.

If you really want to develop a real iOS app, a mac mini is probably the cheapest way to get a seat at the table...

...if you don't want to buy some new hardware, then perhaps...

Android Studio provides app builders with an integrated development environment (IDE) optimized for Android apps. Download Android Studio today.

AppGameKit Classic is a powerful game development engine, ideal for Hobbyist and Indie developers. Choose to code in the easy to learn AppGameKit BASIC or use our libraries in C++ & XCode. Write your code once and deploy easily to multiple mobile & desktop platforms.

I've been looking at getting this.

It lets you develop for Windows / Mac / Android / iOS, although if you want to publish for Mac / iOS you have to run it on a Mac. But, hey, I can write on my PC and then just get a cheapo POS ten year old Powerbook or iBook or something and compile for Mac or iOS on there. It's relatively inexpensive, and looks like they can do some pretty nifty stuff.
