    Pay as you Go Cellular

I used to have T-Mobile to go for the kids. Buy a phone, only pay for what you use. Fill with $100 and it's good for up to one year. We switched to a family plan and the T-Mobile to Go numbers all expired. Now I need a phone number I will only use 2 or 3 months a year, but T-Mobile to Go is gone. In fact I can't find any of the so called "burner" phones you hear about on CSI and Supernatural.

I Googled "prepaid cellular" and basically you get a no contract plan but it's still 20 bucks a month whether you use it or not. Guess national security has done away with "burner" phones. They want a paper trail tied to a real person.

T-Mobile does have a plan for $3 a month for 30 minutes. The number stays good for 90 days. It stays activated as long as you put money in the account. So far that's the best I've found. Just wondering if anyone knows of another option. TIA

Wifi is available at work and at home. I'll probably use the phone for incoming calls only. I'll have to look into that. Thanks.

Get a Google talk number. It is free and you can use it on old android or IOS phones and devices or you can forward it to a real phone number..

Sounds like me. Had a TracFone for 4/5 yrs now. $20 every 90 days or pick one of their deals with double minutes/time for a yr for somewhere around $100.

Or you could drop out of the Productive American classification and get a free Obuma Phone that other peeps pay for.

                    PagePlus cellular

$10 get you 100 mins that are good for 120 days. If you add another $10 before the 120 days, the remaining time is carried over. I got this for my parents a year ago or so since they only use the cell phone on occasion and emergencies. This saved them from the AT&T $70/month bill for the cell phones they did not use.

They have other plans too: https://www.pagepluscellular.com/

T-Mobile still has a Pay As You Go $3.5 per month plan.
                      30 minutes and 30 texts.

You have to go to the kiosk or store and ask for it.
I just got a plan like that two months ago.

I love the T-Mobile pay as you go ($100) a year. We have two phones on that program.

I was on that program (pay as you go) since 2006 or was it 2007 (or so). I only converted to a data plan this year as an add-on because I was using up my minutes much faster. I'd break even with the add-on and get some data.

I can make 1k minutes last 4-5 mos at one point since I don't talk on the phone much. I don't use internet on the phone since I was on a samsung trace for the longest time, and I don't have the patience using free wifi on my samsung dart. So never had a need for data and I had a small tablet with me in the car anyway for browsing on free wifi.

It's a great problem if you don't talk much on the phone. data is expensive on it though but if you can make 1k last even 3-4 mos, that'd great!
