      For cleanup:
      Don't delete \Windows\* files, or \progra~1\* \progra~2\* unless you know what you are doing.

      System restore/protection usually claims too much space. Shrink it. With the high price of real estate on an SSD I dropped mine down to 2%.

      Hibernate file is large (as much RAM as you have is how large the hibernate file is if you have it enabled), System Restore is large (by default), while ISOs and other things in your downloads can be an issue if you are running out of space.

      \windows\temp
      \Windows\SoftwareDistribution can be emptied after stopping the Automatic/Windows update service.

      Run "cleanmgr" too.

      If there are multiple users, an Administrator (on non-home versions it's better) you can cd into their folder at the CLI (cmd), and cd Local Settings\temp under each user, as they all have their own temp files.
