Best ISP options for O.C.? Cox, Time Warner, Verizon, or AT&T ?

Need internet for the new place.
    What says the mob?
Having cable would be nice if it wasn't too much of an adder, though its secondary.

depending on where you live, you might not have much of a choice.
I live in South OC so Cox is my only option.

Time Warmer has been upgrading much of their hardware so their speeds are up significantly from back when I had them (4 years ago)
Cox or Time Warner are incredibly fast
Verizon Fios has ridiculous speeds but not available everywhere

at&t is probably your worst option of those.

We had cable years ago just basic it went down all the time it seemed like.Went to att and it was basic also did fine for us but the last year it just got ridiculously slooow and it went down more often.

Finally canned it and went with time warner i think its a 50mbs plan 5mbs upload and been real happy with it so far.

If verizon fios is there, that's the fastest. You'll pay for it, though.

I'm in oceanside and I've never had a problem with cox. Good speeds for what you pay. My buddy in Dana point has cox as well and the service seems to be about the same.

Get about 60 down, 10-15 up on their "preferred, " second from lowest tier, $50/mo package. Plenty fast for everything I use it for.

They have a 60/mo 100 down package and a new 80/mo 150 down package. Seems comparable with verizon fios speeds now and probably cheaper.

Only thing bad about cox is their soft data caps. Even with the highest tier you are capped at I think 400gb a month. Stupidly unrealistic. I've only gotten obnoxious emails and phone calls to try to upsell me the next highest plan whenever I blow through my 250gb "cap." never been shut off of throttled for it.

I recommend Time Warner. I've had great connections and very fast speeds. I haven't run into any data caps with them either.

I'm in Westminster. Dumped Time Warner because they were so slow, got Verizon. Much better but much more mulla.

Time Warner is the only provider in my area. I've been paying for 20mbps download speeds. I've never achieved this speed, but I have no options.

Then I get a letter from them, says they've tripled my speed!

                    This is my "triple speed"

I despise all three companies and rate them from worse to less than worse in the following order (AT&T, Time Warner and Verizon). All three have poor customer service. I believe this is because they are so big, they could care less about individual customers. In my opinion, AT&T is fraudulent and Time Warner Cable charges high prices but provides low quality equipment to its customers. Verizon provides good quality service, but I will never trust their sales reps. I have used Time Warner Cable and Verizon for 17 years. I am ready to turn off cable TV, due to my dislike of Time Warner.

I currently have their 300 down/20 up plan since I do a lot of file transfers. I'm not a huge fan of the company, but their internet certainly works. I'm just hoping if Charter buys them that I don't lose the bandwidth.
