    business software?

hey guy, hope this is the right section.
I am looking for some business software - invoicing, inventory, customers, profit and loss, payroll, etc. Also I would like to be able to access this info/data remotely.

Ive looked at quicken and quickbooks, but I an wondering what are you using and do you like it? Is it worth paying for these or trying to get some free software of maybe keeping my own spread sheets?

I did play a little with quickbooks and I think I like it better than quicken, but I am prefer software that's on my hard drive versus the cloud based.

    I appreciate the feedback.

you're basically wanting an ERP (enterprise resource planning). Depending on size/scaleability, and features you need, are gonna dictate what product you use.

Quickbooks is certainly the most popular/easiest one, as it makes hosuewifes into "accountants" now a days.

Peachtree, MYOB, uh.. ton of other ones.. just search around a bit. you can spend from $100 to $100,000+

local vs cloud argument will always be the same principles..
cloud = no maintenance, no overhead on your end, just a monthly fee which adds up over time, even if you really dont use it anymore you still have to pay to have access to it.

local = always yours, overhead of computer storage/backup/maintenance falls on you, but once its yours, its done, UNLESS you have compliance that you have to abide by (have to upgrade to have latest changes). initial setup is more work. also, for support, you'll have to pay some type of maintenance or do a per call basis for help.

I dont see you really needing support for qbooks. its pretty straight forward with no super complex calculations/customizations to get broken by everyday usage.

      hope that helps

        Guiness is good, on tap.

Left Hand Milk Stout is much better, bottle or tap.
