Fun online Python course just started on coursera

Just a heads up in case anyone is interested, the course "An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python" just started yesterday on Coursera.org. I took this course a while back and found it a lot of fun.

Its for beginners and doesn't require any previous programming knowledge. When I took it I started 2 weeks late and had no problems picking it up even with very limited programming experience. If you already know another language it might be a little slow. You learn by building simple games, the last project is to write a basic asteroids clone.

The best part is its free. You can pay to earn a verified certificate but you also have the option of taking the class for free. The only difference is they don't verify your identity so you don't get a verified certificate.

I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I just liked the class and thought someone else might like it to. I thought the next two classes in their "Fundamentals of Computing" specialization, "Principles of Computing" and "Algorithmic Thinking" were also very good.

Just signed up. Had to change computers because the one I was on only has Explorer and I'm not adding Chrome. Long story.

Python is a great language and it is used all over the place. From simple script like stuff for servers to complex shader language and even physics sim for 3d packages.
