What is the procedure for obtaining a CCW in Sacramento County?

I know I have mentioned my desire to see something happen out here in Placer similar to what is going on in Sacramento and I eagerly await any movement on that front... however being that Yolo is actually named in Sykes and being that it is likely Sykes that has caused Sac to open up the way they have, I am curious to know what kind of progress is actually happening there.

I dont know who told you Placer was more difficult to obtain permission from the Sheriff to carry a concealed weapon. I have several friends that live in Placer that are no more "special" than I am, who possess CCW licences. My advice....Apply

What makes you think I haven't? Trust me... I wouldn't be opening my mouth here if I couldn't qualify by these new "Sacramento" standards. I've been turned down in Placer on original app and on appeal with No, zero, zilch, NONE on a criminal history. More to the story, but I've already gone the rounds with it here in the boards.

I have a feeling that these "appointments" are going to be going away soon. Gene wouldn't have said "you can go to the sheriff's office and apply for a license today with self defense" (paraphrasing, of course, his youtubed comments at GRPC 2010) if there wasn't something in process to fix that particular issue.

Hmm...and Gene is not correcting any of Gray's statements either. Gene was not the least but surprised about the loss of the school restriction on the new CCW's. Wonder if there is something to read into that?
