Thanks for all the responses, it's definitely helped lead me in the right direction. I read up a little on the c39 v2, it looks like what im looking for. It isnt a Arsenal, but quality wise and for that price, I dont think I could go wrong. Still looking at a couple of others but so far, milled receiver, nitride barrel, concentric brake, and a nifty safety notch already machined in is mouth watering. Keep the suggestions coming if you've got more, I will post pics of whatever i end up with. Thanks.

I'm right now trying to decide between a RAS 47 or a newer WASR 10 (both are stamped), but I'm leaning more towards the RAS47.

From what I've seen, the C39 V2 and the RAS 47 are pretty much exactly the same except for the receiver, as the RAS47 is stamped and the C39V2 is milled.

i was recently gifted that c39 sporter and its a great rifle. the only issue is the top rail on the hadguard is a little wobbly making it really pointless to put an optic on.
What i did to remedy this was put a UTG pro rail on top that i bought from AO swords here in El Cajon and its SOLID.

we never had the problems in CA till the whiteys took over. We used to hunt, fish, roam, then they showed up and wanted to be civilized.............Ruined it for everyone!

You could go featureless by filling in the thumb hole stock and then widen the magwell for additional mags.

I'd start with the factory AKs before I venture into the US domestic stuff...

I'd recommend saving up and just getting something like an SGL-21. It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. I love mine.

The WASR has a Cold Hammer Forged, Chrome lined ROMANIAN barrel.
It is built by a factory that produces military arms.

The RAS is a brand new model (are the bugs worked out of this 1st gen gun?) & is built by a company which has had issues with producing its own guns.

All I'm saying is. Buy the WASR.

I'm super happy with my NPAP. I did go with an after market tube style stock because the original wood stock beat the crap out of my face. My NPAP came with two double stack 10 round Tapco mags and single hook Tapco trigger. I've put well over 500 rounds thru it without a single malfunction of any kind. It was half the price as the Arsenal and in my view twice the gun.

You can still find Russian made sporter AKs (Saigas, Veprs) for ~ $600. Quality is super on these!
