Worked at citi bank for a while. Never saw this. Unholstered weapon, even by a uniformed cop = press the panic button. I've only ever seen unholstered weapons at the Fed in LA, when they were doing multi billion dollar cash drops.

I have seen it many times, appears to be a common practice.

At my bank, the security guards upholster their guns in Pleather. They use Glocks, so I guess it makes sense. Plastic guns, plastic leather.

Yes I've seen this. Given the job, I never thought twice about it being odd.

Yes, I've seen this too from time to time. Big sack in one hand, gun out and pointed down in the other along with a brisk pace and head on a swivel.

Hell, sometimes I feel I should be walking that way leaving the store, trying to get back to my car!!!

                        Really?

How much space does a multi billion dollar cash transaction occupy?

Well, in fairness, we can't hear you. We have to guess based on the words you type and the avatar photo you are using.

I used to see this frequently years ago. I have not seen it recently. I thought maybe they had simply stopped using this procedure.

I doubt he had his finger on the trigger. Probably just outside the trigger guard. I rely on things I actually see. 'feeling' is no different than 'assuming'. We know what happens when you 'assume' ;-).

Sounds like brandishing. My friend worked for Dunbar, never un-holstered his weapon.
