    Ventura Gun Show this weekend

Haven't been in a while. Does anyone know what they're charging now for .50 cal ammo cans? They're like $20 on line plus shipping. Was wondering if it's worth the drive, parking and admission. Thank you in advance.

IMHO, you can find it cheaper on-line. I stopped going to California gun shows two years ago, other than the Santa Barbara Historic Arms show next weekend. That isn't a buying show, that is an educational show.

The last couple of Ventura shows I attended were sad.

Yup. That's what I figured. Thanks Capybara. The last time I went to the Ventura show, about 4 years ago, .50 cal ammo cans were $10. I found some #2 grade cans on line with surface rust for that price plus about $2 each for shipping. That sounds like a better idea.

just look for a shipping deal, the shipping is what makes cheap, bulky on-line purchases sometimes not as good of a deal. Also, the few Army Navy Surplus stores in the county usually will negotiate if you want to by some quantity.

You can find good deal online if you look. If you're not super picky there are deals to be found. Some people only want the authentic items.

Also, Crossroads gun shows tend to be better than McMann's. Not that i'll be going…..

M&M tools on Balboa at Saticoy in Van Nuys have had 50 cal ammo cans off and on for couple years.
