The calguns market place has better deals in so cal, that it you guys have more gun that I want. But if you're buying new, Ive see multiple threads of what so cal people have paid for guns I have around the same time and I feel you guys get ripped.

Summary:
So Cal better for resale consumer.
Nor Cal better for new consumer.

Thats a tough one! Not going to lie there are times when I planned to go down to So Cal for some PPTs...Dont want to be " THAT GUY" but I would have to say 50/50 tie all depends on the deal.

There are times when I see deals on the South end and North jumps back up and so on. Might be good to add to the poll "Even" just to see if any members have the same views. 0.02 Great thread!

No specific experience with guns, but I always thought everything was less expensive in Greater LA than in the Bay Area. For one thing, it's a much bigger market down here.

Some years ago when I moved to San Francisco I needed to buy a smaller car to be able to park it on the street. I decided to get a nine-year-old Honda CRX. So I would fly down to SoCal on weekends to shop for the car. Finally bought one in Mission Viejo and drove it home.

Prices were better in SoCal and there was a lot more choice. I would expect it to be the same with guns.

To me it's all one big market. The incentive for me is the prize. Several times I've made the North-South trip (x2) for a firearm I wanted at the time.

It's not like you're crossing the Gobi Desert on foot; the drive is actually pretty easy. I usually stay overnight with a side trip to an attraction or eatery I've read about. Take a friend & make it a road trip.

I'm a NorCal lifer. Unfortunately I think SoCal is better for gun sources and prices. We have nothing like the Turners chain up here. I know Turners has some critics in SoCal but it is a good resource and they do have some good sales.

SoCal has more BLM land also and some private ranges that we can't equal up here.

Nor Cal seems to have better deals on what I would classify as "Grandpa's" Guns, older less popular firearms. Such as shotguns. But I think I has to do with the grass appearing to be greener on the other side of the fence.

I have gotten good deals in both areas, but I'd say more in SoCal by a ratio of 2:1

For me, when I'm home it seem like all the deals are in SoCal.
When I'm working in Oceanside - I see stuff I want in NorCal.
When I find something I really want - it is already SPF.

Seems like more options in Socal but I've seen a ton of things I wanted to by from Norcal gunner but shipping was the issue. We need someone on both ends to acts as a clearinghouse FFL for shipping and a decent rate.

Born and raised in San Francisco, but live in San Diego now.

I think a lot has to do with the political climate. There are obvious areas of exception, but the big population centers in Nor Cal are decidedly more liberal, which usually equates to less gun ownership/fewer enthusiasts.

The shops up there are few and far between compared to So Cal and per capita income is fairly high. That influences supply and demand, plus what the market will bear - even post retail environment.

It's definitely better down south.
