It's not on the roster and it has a threaded barrel. It looks pretty cool, though. Good luck?

        How does it shoot? Awesome!
I've only shot the earlier version with the one piece wood stock.
The weight makes .22LR recoil insignificant and the accuracy is good with a red dot or scope.

The wood version was a bit chunky handling wise so that's why I think they went with the new versions A2 grip, which I'm sure is changeable to other kinds.

Sadly with the end of SSE there is no way to get one in CA unless you start with an 80% receiver and buy the rest of the parts separately.
A mag lock is needed for these, too.

Isn't the Charger just basically a 10/22 without a shoulder stock?

            And a short barrel, yes.

In it's stock config it's an AW in CA, isn't on the roster, and good luck trying to buy one via PPT(there aren't many, and odds are people who do own them are hanging onto them).

                    Starting 01-01-2015...
In order to be CA legal, the "80% receiver" needs to be built as a dimensionally compliant single-shot pistol with all of the following features:
                    1. "bullet button" maglock + 0 round magazine/sled
                    2. minimum 6" barrel length
                    3. minimum 10.5" overall length
                    4. break-open top/barrel or bolt-action

The point of a pistol like that is long range pest control. Track down a Remington XP100 in .221 Fireball. A little more $ to shoot (reloads pretty cheap) but will shoot 1" at 200 yards all day.

Tactical invations lower drosed as other then build it into a pistol.

There is no "other" option in the CA DROS system.

Unless an exemption (LEO sale, out-of-state intra-familial gift) is used to allow a stripped receiver to be DROS'd as a (category) "handgun" (subcategory) "receiver", a stripped receiver will be DROS'd as (category) "long gun" (subcategory) "rifle" (sub-subcategory) "receiver".
Using a receiver that has been DROS'd as a "long gun" to make a "handgun", will legally be considered a SBR [PC 17170(c)] instead of a handgun under CA laws.
