How many of those are in California and able to be PPTed?

Like real estate, in this case the three important factors are, location...location...location.

      Yep. Right on the money.

I have a short barreled MKIII hunter, not for sale, but if it was could I really get that much for it?
I bought a pair of long barreled Mk II's some years back after seeing the crappy design of the Mk III and knowing that Rugers would probably become non list. People were laughing at me because I was paying "new list price" (about $400) for lightly used guns, but it seems like a smart move now. $900 seems a bit steep but after seeing the prices of Colt Pythons here (and a $6000 Valtro), nothing shocks me anymore.

If you can find a nice Mk II. Personally, I would never give up a good Mk II because they are much better than the Mk III.

            Define "much better"?

My MkIII 22/45 is as good as my MkII, I just had the neuter the idiotic mag safety. So I guess technically I have a MkII.5 now.

Yeah, the MK IIs are what you want. I have seven Ruger 22 autos, the Mark IIs were the best.

$900 for a mkIII? Hell, in that case, my lc9 must be worth at least $1400. Maybe I should sell?

For $900 you could almost get 3 browning buckmarks

You guys miss the point, If SSE2.0 is about changing slide to Bolt/Break action.

Ruger MK series will NEVER EVER be on the SSE2.0 since the actual serialized part is the upper(barrel).

This makes the ruger 22/45 pretty much impossible to get even after SSE2.0

So $900? I don't know if that stupid roster is still up, I wouldn't be surprised if goes for that much!
                    Stuff I got for sale:
+++ Dan Wesson DWX, Glock 47 MOS, Walther PPK Stainless Steel, Canik Rival Dark Side, Canik Mete SF, FN 509 LS EDGE OR, Springfield SA35 Hi Power, HK VP Match OR, Beretta 92XI SAO, Beretta APX A1 and more

FWIW, I sold a Mark III Target LNIB (blued) for $475 while it was still on the roster (about 10 months ago).

Mk II's don't have the mag disconnect that screws up the trigger design. If you want to shoot bullseye, get a Mk II. With Volquartsen trigger parts they can be tuned for a perfect glass break trigger that is under a pound of force.

All you need is a replacement bushing that cost like 10 bucks to remove the disconnect. Hell in a pinch I made my own with 2 egged out washers and the original bushing... But later replaced it with the Tandomkross (but I honestly can't feel a difference between the washers and the real bushing)

The reason I’m starting yet another thread here about hammer bushings is that I wanted to give an unbiased review concerning these. I have all three types of bushings (Sam’s, BAM’s, and Tandemkross’), a Ruger Mark III 22/45 6 7/8 Hunter, and here are my thoughts regarding each one of these...

Wow...in the $900s your getting into the Model 41 price range...there's no comparison between the 2.

If you read my whole post you would see that I already addressed that concern and it cost me nothing to do so, as I simply used a couple of properly sized washers to accomplish it.

The Volquartsen parts work just fine in the MkIIIs as well.

MkII or MkIII there is no real advantage of one over the other once aftermarket parts come into play.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.
