You think this warrants a refund?

So me and my cousin are finishing up our 2 last 80%'s that we have left (we both bought 5 packs). We opted for the annodized versions on one 5 pack. Obviously for $10 more we didn't expect much but this is utter junk.

We put blue painters tape... Yes blue freakin blue painters tape on one of the lowers and it took off the "annodization". In one pull.

Do you guys think we should contact the company and ask for a refund of $10 for each lower? Rattle can holds up to more than this crap.

Sorta of not happy being we are out an extra $50 per pack for this "annodized finish". But not because we expected it to be semi cheap but this is a little ridiculous....

So what say CGN? Would you guys be happy with this?

Did they say it was Type III anodized?

Drilling the fire control pocket out. Damn that's gonna take forever!

Anodizing in type 3 will not come off like that. I'd just keep going and get it stripped and re anodized correctly when you are finished drilling. If they advertised as type 3 then they need to pay for those to be re coated.

The alloy specs look like bits of milled alloy which have adhered themselves to the surface of the receiver....A very common issue.

              Just finish the receivers....

                As advertised

                Black Anodized Finish
We plan on finishing them. But I'm just not happy we opted $50 extra for this "anodized finish". If it's just going to flake we would have just opted for RAW and sent them out for anodizing our selves when finished..

                I'll be emailing them tomorrow.

I wouldn't be happy with it. The anodized 80's I CNC cut have durable finishes. Money back!

You obviously didn’t get what was advertised.

I think a refund for the cost of the anodizing for each lower is a very fair / reasonable request…

I would send pictures and ask for a partial refund, but I wouldn't expect anything. If a company is willing to cut corners and false advertise I doubt they will stand behind their product.

I really don't think its the tape... that stuff is pretty gentle on any surface I've used it on.

The anodize could flake at the drilled holes but should not come off at an untouched surface with tape.
