I've been wondering about using water as expedient body armor.

If you gotta have as much water as possible anyways, why not find a way to use its bullet slowing properties.

Plus, if the bullet does get past the water's container and 'draws blood' the punctured container will help wash out the wound with nice clean water.

Maybe water tanks in side doors of the Road Warrior SHTF buggy? Jerry cans on the hood?

Maybe the Mall Ninjas in my Zombie Epic will raid a running store and strap all sorts of sports bottles of water all over themselves to prevent Zombie bits (Zombies hate water in their mouths) and as body armor in shoot out with bad guys.
Am I a good shot!?!, YEAH I'M A GOOD SHOT!....i just got bad aim

Saw a show on TV where this guy and his family live on a ranch near the Mexican border. His truck had taken a round or two, so he took old phone books and lined the insides of the doors with them. He tested them out and they stopped a .357 round from about 20 feet IIRC.

If you haven't seen it with your own eyes,
or heard it with your own ears,
don't make it up with your small mind,
or spread it with your big mouth.
