First time using ballistol......

Good lord this stuff wreaks!! Smells like super potent ripe feet to me, but works amazing! Been using froglube for my rifles and it has worked well for me, just wanted to try something different for my glock. Decided to lube one of my iron gates in the backyard with it and boy what a difference it makes. It's become effortless to open and close the damn thing.
Those of you that use it, did u eventually get used to the smell or does it even bother you? First time using it was Saturday night and actually made me feel sick to the point of almost being nauseous. I usually clean my guns in the house since the froglube had a pleasant smell that didn't bother the wife but now looks like I might have move cleaning time outside.

Having been on Calguns.net since it started, I'd note that this is the only gun forum where the smell of a cleaner or lubricant is a bfd.

Ballistol smells like fermented multiple days used gym shorts + a hint of anis. Bought a pour can and dropped out 5 drops at most just to see what it was. Stinks horribly and permiates through out the room. The odore is so foul I could not believe some one made a product like this for anything other than the hardware used in or around a barn.

The smell doesn't bug me. I think it smells like funky licorice more than feet, but, I like licorice; so there's that...
My wife learned to live with it because it's effective, easy, and unlike Gunzilla, won't strip paint if you spill it.

The only lubricant's scent which I can stand is triflo (smells like bananas). I've heard ballistol works great though...not too expensive either.

Dude...at first you think it smells terrible then you cant get enough of the stuff.

I use Slip 2000 because it has no smell. The carbon cleaner has a slight smell but the rest has none. I can clean inside without the wife complaining.

+1 for slip. Stuff is great. Fireclean is awesome as well.

Ballistol works really good, but the smell is something else...

I have no sense of smell anymore. I've got a few bottles of Ballistol and some wipes around here and, I've never had any issues with the product at all.

If you have Ballistol and cant seem to quit using it, smear some on an old tee shirt you have and wash it with the wife's underwear. That is all you need to quit using it!
