Plastic BUIS on railed gas block (piston)

Hello, and good evening late night forum readers. I had a question about a BUIS (magpul) and railed gas blocks (piston).

I'm aware you can't use plastic buis on a DI gas block but do piston gas blocks not generate as much heat? I Appreciate the information.

I have a piston system on my AR. Gas block gets pretty hot and some gas does escape from where piston meets block. I would not put plastic on there.

I had a Magpul front sight mounted on my Adams Arms gas block and had slapped the rifle with a rustoleum paint job. The paint bubbled on the gas block but all the front sight had was carbon deposits that wiped off. I do think if I were dumping mag after mag it would have a negative effect, so I switched to Troys.
