Getting An FFL, CA / Municipal issues?

I thought I had seen threads in the past that discussed the FFL process, but search is turning up nothing for me (perhaps it's not functional?).

Can someone point me to past threads or share any reliable info they may have as to the process of getting an FFL with regards to CA / City (San Diego) hurdles? Intention is for personal use and perhaps internet sales/transfers down the line, will not be doing any direct sales.

The first thing you should have done is go to the ATF website. If you had, you would see that "personal use" or getting an FFL just for convenience and increasing one's collection is not permitted. It must be a business.

Second, you will NOT be able to get a business license and the appropriate clearance to sell guns in the city of SD unless you have an actual storefront, i.e. you can't be a "kitchen table" FFL. Most urban cities will have this requirement. If you live out in Alpine or Santee, etc you might be able to get a license to run out of your residence (doubt it though).

Went to the ATF website, didn't see that. But it will be a business, I'm just still narrowing down exactly what I want to focus on; so that's irrelevant.

Guess I'll have to move to Santee. That is the type of thing I was curious about, but I'm not finding much San Diego specific info online.
