So it's time for a purchase. Can't decide on what to get: MC Operator or M1A. Both has an intended purpose and fall in the same price range. I have been eyeing both for a while now. Which would you prefer?

For me.....I would factor in what you already own.....do you have a 1911 already? If not I would get the Operator.....If you already have a 1911 but not a battlerifle.....I'd get the M1A... -
I do own a 1911 and have everything for it, so no added costs for equipment. The m1a is sweet but then you factor in an optic, mount, and ammo which then becomes a substantial investment. But it don't have a battlerifle so that is a plus."Si vis pacem, para bellum - If you want peace, prepare for war."Comment

Get the m1a first and then pick up the operator later.Comment

You don't have to mount an optic, my colleague has one and it shoots just fine with irons. We plink tin cans and bottles at 100 yards with it at the Los Altos range.Comment

M1A. I shoot mine accurately to 200 yards with the iron sites. I'm going to upgrade to a NM aperture and some day if I want to get into long distances,I'm will look at optics. It is an awesome rifle. Really awesome. You will not at all regret it.Comment

I love my M1A! Get one for yourself too and then while you're sitting through your 10 day infringement period, head on over to Treeline and pick up a USGI extractor, hammer, trigger, and gas shims to replace the garbage that Springfield is going to put on your rifle from the factory.Comment

There's also the 3 free mags for any purchase of a new M1A promo going on.
