The first rest stop you hit when you enter Arizona is known as a "Lock and Load Station".

I am a trucker. That Pilot (and the Loves across the road) are wonderful places around spring break and every weekend all summer long

You'll be lucky to be able to buy a box of ammo without going through a 100 page test soon enough.

BTW, I've stayed in Texas well over a dozen different times and have yet to be disappointed. It's quite funny how some people just have to piss on other's parades for no good reason.
Our new house will be finished on 02.18.2015! Good by California.

When I decide to drive to our new home, I wil be going through Arizona and New Mexico and I will be transporting my arsenal with me. I don't trust moving company's so I think I'll drive one of my cars there with the guns, ammo and other valuables.

My question is what do I need to do to make sure I have no issues crossing state lines on the way? I will have them all locked up properly, but I'm not sure what else will be required as far as the guns and ammo are concerned. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldnt want to haul all my ammo. Not all at once at least. that's a lot of weight. And space. Even for my truck.

But I guess it's all relative per ones collection

^^^ Me also. I only have a 3/4 ton truck with a camper shell. No way to fit and haul all the ammo or reloading stuff/supplies.
I would have enough trouble getting all the firearms in one load.
If I were moving to Texas I would get a suppressor or 2 before I bought any gun.

                    But that is just me.

OP Enjoy your new state and take care. If you ever want someone to hunt pigs/deer with just let me know. I am planning on a Texas hunt in the future.

They just have to be legal where you leave from and at your destination. Federal law "peaceable journey" has you covered.

And Federal courts have clarified, through case laws, that the Federal laws are a defense to be used at trial and does not prevent a person from bring arrested, jailed, and having their property confiscated for violating local laws while on their journey.
