    No more AR pistols?

I keep reading that AR Pistols are no longer on Ca roster. Is this correct?
Is the only way to get a AR pistol is through PPT?
Can I build my own AR pistol from 80%?
Last question. Are we still ok with Sig Brace?
    Thank you in advance.

So many questions on the sig brace in regards to legalities! OP what are your intentions for the sig brace?? To use as a shoulder stock or to use it as its intended purpose... Which is to strap it on your forearm.

There is no opinion from the CA courts or CA DOJ on the legalities of the Sig Brace. Since CA has its own separate SBR law, the BATFE opinion letter on the Sig Brace means almost nothing in CA. Use at your own risk.

SBR conviction means a national lifetime firearms ban.

                "No more AR pistols"

No big loss. Nevertheless, my sincere condolences to the Tacticool community.

"I keep reading that AR Pistols are no longer on Ca roster. Is this correct?"

                  Did you check the roster?

"Is the only way to get a AR pistol is through PPT?"

No. PPT is probably the best way to obtain one. Interfamiliar transfers and LEO acquisitions aside, its also about the only completely legal way to get a semi-auto AR pistol.

"Can I build my own AR pistol from 80%?"

Yes, but please check out California's "Zip Gun" statute. It's confusing as all hell. But it appears to permit you to build one (but remember IANAL, and my opinion doesn't count for much). You also have to build it as a "Single-Shot" firearm, and such that it is a "Break-Top" or "Bolt-Action", or you have to submit it for the DOJ testing process.

You're fine if you keep it as a single-shot. Many folks on this forum will argue that you can later legally "convert" that single shot to semi auto. Those folks are talking off the top of their head. There has been no court case so holding. A court could make such a holding, and the practice could be completely legal. But it could also easily go the other way. In that case, you're in jail and your firearms goes to the shredder. Keep your eyes open on this one. It's not a settled issue.

"Are we still ok with Sig Brace?"

We never were "ok with the Sig Brace." The way California law is written, the brace could make the AR pistol into an SBR. No court has ruled on the issue, California DOJ has not issued any enforcement guidance, and the ATF guidance is not binding on California.

Tracy rifle and pistol is selling ar pistols as bolt action without the gas block or gas tube attached. After you dros it and leave the store yoy can "customize" your bolt action pistol with those parts and turn it into a semi auto gas operated pistol.

The new SSE ban has not really affected AR pistols.

I see them still for sale in the local gun shops.

There are new 2015 compliant versions out there. I tend to promote Franklin Armory quite a bit because they make a quality product and the owner is a friend of mine. They have been producing 2015 compliant models and selling them since the Jan 1.
