    1911 smith

    Looking to customize my 1911
    As far as engraving on the gun itself among other things.
    Can anyone lead me in the right direction. I'm in northern ca bay area, but will travel.
    And before anyone says Anything bout being in the wrong section

    The absolute best engraver is Leonard Francolini, doubtful you could afford him.

        Well without really knowing exactly what customizing you need hard to give a name since some are better than others in certain areas of customizing.

            Probably the best local 1911 smith is John Jardine.

            Otherwise, you'll probably need to send the gun away. I've had a couple of 1911s built by Jason Burton of Heirloom Precision in Arizona. He did some beautiful work.

            John Harrison in Georgia has also done some excellent work for me.

            I don't think any of those shops do engraving, but they could probably refer you to someone good for the engraving.

              Gene Shuey in Carson City an perform about all 1911 upgrades, including engraving.

                Angelo Bee Gold Cup...
                Angelo was a Master Engraver for Browning in Belgium...now he lives/works in Chatsworth.

                          Most engraved guns are BBQ guns, not really for shooting.
