IS THE PSA PA10 THE SAME AS LR 308?

Negatory
I don't have direct experienced yet with the LR 308 platform, but I have been paying attention here on CG and do know that though the PSA PA10 is "based" off the DPMS style 308, PSA's design has it's own idiosyncrasies that severely limits parts swapping with many/most other LR308 brands.
With that said, the DPMS 308 is not a milspec system and there are plenty of variations in parts in general. Building one will require attention in the selection of parts.Last edited by Back to Earth; 01-07-2015, 10:16 PM.I come for the conflict -- but stay for the camaraderie. -

From what I've read the front pivot pin, rear take down pin, and bolt release/catch are proprietary pieces that can't be substituted from other manufacturers. Everything else is DPMS compatible.
To build on this, there is no specification (military or otherwise) for an AR platform chambered in .308. The two big players are Armalite (AR-10) and DPMS (LR 308) and most minor players will build their lowers to mimic one of these two (LR 308 seems to be the most copied), but there is nothing to prevent someone from making an AR-styled .308 lower receiver using proprietary parts (PA10 appears to be an example).
-RuskieThe Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed - where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.
