getting ak/ar pistols on roster

so does than manufacturer or importer just have to give a sample to the ca doj for the safety test and pay the fee? is that all it would take to get dracos/minis/micros into ca again?
why wont they do it? isnt the fee only $200?
and couldnt any manufacturer of ar15's make their own pistol and do the samE?

They need to make an AK that has mag disconnect safety, LCI, firing pin block, microstamp, etc.

This^^ it would be too much work and money for manufacturers to even think about it.

In order to be CA legal, AK style pistols and AR style pistols must operate using a fixed magazine. Otherwise, they would be considered assault weapons.

Since they use a fixed magazine, they are not required to have a magazine disconnect mechanism.

However, they will still need a chamber load indicator and a microstamping array.
