To live in a free state....

On Saturday I was driving on 199 from Grants Pass, OR to Crescent City, CA. While still in OR I saw something that blew my mind. As I was passing through a little town there was a guy set up in a vacant lot holding a yard sale out of the back of his pickup. He was selling ammo! ...just ammo! On the road side! In plain view! With BIG signs saying "AMMO"!!!! Damn I wish I'd taken a picture.

Is this just another part of life in a free state? Roadside ammo sales. Who would have thought. Around here we've just got the guys selling cherries/oranges/flowers.

Needless to say, i can't even imagine the full amount of hurt that would happen to me if I tried this in the bay area.

No, i didn't stop, though I was tempted. He was advertising 22LR and I don't need any.

      Probably a gouger...

I wonder what his handle in the classifieds here is?

You don't need a FFL to sell ammo.

There is a couple where I live that sells ammo at some of the local street markets that are held about once a month. They are pretty expensive but I will buy from them when I need some ammo.

Go to a yard sale here. You can buy guns in parking lots once you get your ccw.

It's not a free state thing, it's an ammo flipper thing.

There was a guy here that would do the same thing in the Aero Drive wal mart parking lot.

I don't think there is anything illegal about it but I'm sure there would be some frantic 9-1-1 calls to law enforcement with an accompanying visit to the sale site by the local police department.

I miss being able to go to a gun show, and buy used weapons off people, with nothing more than a state DL.

Or going into a gunstore, buying a gun, and because of my CCW, have no waiting time, juts walking out after I bought it.
                          With zero extra charges either....

Actually you don't need a CCW to buy parking lot guns in Nevada. Most sellers do want to see a NV drivers license to make sure the buyer isn't from California trying to bypass federal law or the ATF trying to entrap someone.
