LWRC REPR Failure to go into full battery. FrogLube?

Went for a New Years Day fun shoot up at our Winchester Canyon Gun Club yesterday with my buddies at the 200yd range, so decided to bring up the REPR that I haven't shot in probably 6 months. Last time out, shot less than 100 rds and put her back in the safe, clean with the usual light coating of FrogLube. Now it was quite chilly out, probably in the high forties. Put a mag in and no go. The Bolt failed to fully go into battery unable to fire. Removed mag, vigorously worked the charging handle back and forth and finally was able to get gun to fire. However able to eject spent casing, but unable to fully again go into battery to fire next round. So, we removed bolt, wiped evrything down and applied a light coating of fresh FrogLube and again vigorously worked charging handle to try and get things moving. After being able to fire a few rounds, the rifle was able to function as normal and again obliterating the wall of clays setup at 200yds with usual ease. Anyone have this problem too? Or is this further evidence of the FrogLube gumminess issues etc.?

many websites these last couple weeks I keep reading problems, and people always add they use frog lube

ive never heard of it, and im guessing its maybe one of those oils that does it all

im probably going to stay away from that stuff I have just been seeing too many threads start off with frog lube in the title

I dont even know what im using its in a unmarked bottle
I think its 4 in one oil mixed with some oil that came in a cleaning kit

Most likely a combination of several factors.

      1. Weapon stored for a period and not lubed or checked prior to use.
      2. May have had too much or the wrong lubrication for the climate.
      3. Ammo having less pressure due to low temperature affecting the powder.
      4. Dirty piston exerting less energy during cycle.

        Switch to FireClean.

I saw a post on IG a few days ago from a reputable guy in the industry that placed a jar of froglube and fireclean in below freezing temps and the froglube was frozen solid after a couple of hours. So that is probably your issue, it solidified in the cold.
*1moasolutions was the page, I saw it on.

Maybe it's old tech but I'll keep using Gun Slick (Anhydrous Graphite) and stay away from the wonderlubes.

Well......going to miss that minty freshness of FL, but going to give FIREclean a try. Froglube has been a great CLP but the gumminess is undeniable and validated constantly here on CG.

Use FL paste on all my 6920s, never an issue. Are you using the paste or the "oil"?

Did you leave the Frog Lube on while it was in storage? You're supposed to wipe the lube off entirely after wipedown. Leaving a "layer" off it has caused many people to have jamming issues.

Used the FL liquid not paste. And after last use, wiped down and stored with light coating of FL. It was quite unbelievable how even aggressively working charging side handle, the bolt just simply would not completely go into battery or fully seat far enough to fire. It took disassembly, re-wipe and re-application of lube.

I just use rem oil on mine. I also use a Slidefire with it. No issues.
