Can someone school me on this? I have a gun for sale and someone is asking to trade a Front Sight Ambassador membership for it. I see what they say on their site what it is...but what is Front Sight and is a membership transfer legit?

Front Sight is a nice place to get training if you have the ability to get out there a couple times a year. I live in SoCal so I can drive out there after work on
Thursday, take a 4 day class, and drive home Mon night and be back to work on Tuesday. 4-day class, 2-days off of work. NorCal people might lose 2 additional days of travel making it more costly to attend.
as for the value of the membership, I'd put it at $200 tops, so I'd expect him to toss in a couple memberhsips or some cash to sweeten the deal.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Yup! They offer 2 or 4 days class training for handguns or/and long guns. There are several levels of memberships like the one you mentioned.
Contact Front Sight and ask them about the transferability of what was offered you.
I bought 2 days training for me and my wife and haven't find time to do it because of the distance.Comment

Just remember that if you take a class at FS they will hit you for a $50 background check once a year and take that into account on the value of the membership.
If you don't know what Front Sight is already, I would just take cash.If it was a snake, it would have bit me.

They are if you buy them from FS. But there are tens of thousands of these things floating around, so market value is discounted quite a bit.If it was a snake, it would have bit me.

The memberships are worth about $100 each right now.
You can buy one for that pretty easily.
The training is nearly top notch. The only way to go better is gunsite at $2k/course.Comment

and if you have any desire to do any firearms training, its a smoking deal. go there just once and you've gotten more than $50 in training out of it. It just isn't worth trading a gun for a membership. 5 years ago, yes, it may have been ,but Iggy has whored them out so much that the market in them is in the toilet.Jack

It's a good school.. and even though it's far, you really can't beat unlimited training for a few hundred bucks.
Worst part are the constant salespitch emails.. every day.. all the time..
