Some bulk winchester runs better with bolt action long guns. However maybe try to polish the feeding ramp, lubricate the magazine at the follower....and!!!!!! if you wipe those rounds with an oiled rag, just a little, you'll love the way it feeds.

So the answer to crappy ammo is to modify your rifle? Nope the correct response is to never buy it again.Comment

CCI and blazer are the only ones that don't fail me. Rest are Meh, gonna have a fail every 9 shots.

You stated "polish" not "clean" and to apply oil to rounds to get them to feed is pretty dumb.
I am hardly "sitting and staring" at anything, mine are all long gone and I simply don't buy Win 333/555 packs anymore.Comment

It's been posted here (and elsewhere) that a small drop of oil on the first round of each magazine can help resolve a few differen issues.
Perhaps give that a try.
YMMVSorry, not sorry.

If it was from Big C, I had/have the same problem I think it's a bad lot
I'm looking for a 22 revolver so I can use up all the ammo my semi autos hate. Shoot them if you got them

There were issues with a couple lots of Winchester M22 ammo earlier this year. Could be repackaged. or they didn't fix the problem.Comment

I've had Winchester 333's & 555's with loose bullets in the cartridge. When the round feeds the bullet gets jacked sideways & causes a FTF. I don't buy Winchester rimfire ammo anymore. Stick with CCI & Federal bulk & you will be fine, IME.-TommyComment

Was this aimed at me or did you just use my post to reply to the thread?
In either case, one brand of ammo is definitely NOT the same as another where .22 is concerned. I can shrink my 5 round shot strings from groups to one hole simply by switching ammo.Comment

I only own one semi auto 22, the rest are bolt, lever or revolver. I agree with Steve in 29, I wouldn't buy it if it didn't work..
I think what the OP might consider an "issue" might be different then others. Not cycling is for sure an issue with me.It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

WWB isn't known for being the best quality. The key is several guns wont fire it. Sounds like your batch was made on a fri afternoon! If it wont "eject" guys are assuming (fairly) it may be an extractor issue. Surprising how many will suggest lubricating ammo, not gonna have a good time, lol! I've seen a lot of plinking grade batches that are poor, including federal champion. All ammo is not created equal. Cci is some of the best overall quality for plink & target grade.Last edited by SB1964; 12-31-2014, 11:23 AM.Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!Comment

You say that, until you end up clearing out dud round after dud round and find out of the box of 550 you paid for, you only shot about 300.. And the rest lay on the range floor next to you next to the rifle you threw from frustration of failures.Comment
