Good people sleep peaceably in their bed at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

As far as quality goes- the milled variants are far nicer than the stamped. The Arsenal milled semis are to lust for- and I had a chance to handle a Class-III Norinco AK47 (Vietnam era auto!) once, which had a milled receiver- that thing was beautiful, every bit as nice as the Arsenal (and happy switch to boot!).

I have also heard from some reliable sources that the Russians made the best AK closely followed by East Germany, The Czechs and the Serbs. As far as the Irianian AK, probably just a bunch of propoganda being spread about themselves.

              FEDUPWBS........
Let us hope our weapons are never needed --but do not forget what the common people knew when they demanded the Bill of Rights: An armed citizenry is the first defense, the best defense, and the final defense against tyranny. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military, the hired servants of our rulers. Only the government -- and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws."

I thought the galil was a .223?.why is it even mentioned on this thread?...when I went back home, to palestine...the israeli soldier that was searching me at a checkpoint had a galil..I quizzed him about it and that is what he told me..there is no comparison between the two..the 7.62 rules hands down...my firingline ak will run circles around a galil....

I beg to differ...I had a friend who had some iranian ammo and it was some of the best around he claimed..brass case..clean powder, very accurate....I would guess there ak's would have the same quality....

Late model Yugos are masterpieces and have chrome barrels to boot. I'm also fond of Bulgarian Krinks
