    what do you recommend

I got a 200 dollar visa gift card for xmas from my father inlaw. I originally wanted an eotech and still do but now i am thinking of the many gun related things i can buy. I would have to save for an eotech.

I was thinking a spotting scope, a variable power scope for my ar, another gun, or many other things. What do you guys think, it would be nice to see my bullet holes and make zeroing easier but i could also get a couple of lowers, or save up for an ak, Idk i am lost. Help me out guys.

How about more ammo to help you become even more proficient with the firearms you already have?

Having a quality optic like an Eotech (or Aimpoint) is always a good thing.

I'd reccomend ammo if you are not already well stocked. WELL stocked.
Everyone recently loves having multiple stripped lowers which I don't get. I'd scrap that idea. If $200 makes your head spin, try saving the funds for multiple complete uppers and associated parts.

      Spotting scope? yawn.

So would a reloading set up be even better than more ammo? Also why yawn at a spotting scope? Are they helpful or kind of a waste so to speak?

Depends. Will you actually reload? A lot of reloading sets buried under workbeches.
            I wouldnt' think of it

I bought a cheap spotting scope. If you like long range its a great tool. Saves a lot of walking.
I took my eyepiece off and made a mount for my iphone. This solves the ****ty part about cheaper spotting scopes. I put the phone camera on video and it sits there in perfect focus. Hit record and i can see myself punch targets afterward.

If you want an eotech then save up for it. You are already half way there depending what model you want.

Yeah, reloading is a bit intimidating to me right now. I have ammo and buy more every chance i can. What eotech modle do you guys recommend, i have looked at the 512 but have heard that the recoil can mess with it? I like the aimpoints battery life but not the price and not the tube. I really like eotechs retical and their huge field of view

OK. I have used XPS3 and XPS2 on my .500 caliber bolt action rifle and used the combination to shoot elephants. My elephant load is a 500gr solid bullet at 2300fps.

No problem with recoil. Armed forces use the EOTechs on 50 cal machine guns, the recoil of your little rat gun will not effect the EOTech.

                    I would recommend the XPS2.

I like the look of the smaller ones. Whats the difference between them? I know one is nv compatible but whats the difference between the 2 and 3

The NV compatibility is the only difference between XPS2 and XPS3. The only reason I had the XPS3 was that I wasn't able to find XPS2 and was leaving for a bear hunt in a short time. I had to have time to sight it in and practice with it.

What rifle cartridge are you shooting? .500 Nitro Express or something esoteric like .500 Jeffery? Those are about the only popular .500 and .510 bullets I can think of that are common in 500 gr.

Love to see a pic of that rifle.

It's really not difficult. Just pay attention and don't become careless as you grow comfortable with the routine.

I'd go with a single stage press to start with, cheaper anyway.

What's better than being able to load custom "premium ammo" for the same price (or less) that target ammo sells for at Wally World?

No more worries of ammunition cost or availability, or having a reserve/back stock of cartridges... I keep maybe 200 rounds reserve for the calibers I shoot often/HD duty. The rest.... slowly build up your hoard of brass, bullets, powder and primers... just gotta find time to load em up.

This is what i keep hearing. People say its not difficult but paying attention and minding details is very important. I think it would be cool. Only prob i see is its still hars to get a hold of powder right? I looked into the xps, i like them. I meed to hold one and fiddle with it. I also looked at the aimpoint pro i believe and have to say that price point is nice. I like aim points battery but i really hate just a dot
