I think the problem for me is my shooting ranges don't have any booths or tables high enough to set up a rest on.

If you go to the rifle section, you can also shoot pistols. There they have a few Caldwell adjustable rests for anyone to use for free.

I have used them when zeroing the sights on my AR. I would imagine shooters are allowed to use them for pistols.

Try giving them a call. I believe they are open today until 5PM.

Really? Even if you accidently blow a 2" hole into one? I got to go there with my AR pistol.

Will do. But after the holidays. Everybody who has two cents to buy cartridges is at the ranges this month.

Angeles shooting range in SoCal is great to shoot pistols from a rest. http://www.angelesranges.com/

I go here regularly and test my handloads from the benches on the pistol / rifle side. Check out their website to see their setup. The benches are solid concrete and are convenient for setting up a rest system.

I've shot from a sandbag rest to accuracy test me 1911 and GP100.....

Never again, muzzle flip was substantially greater. My shots were all over the place. I actually shot better groups at 25 yards with both off hand.

Donno what I was doing wrong but never again.
