bhp9 vs 9mm conversion on colt commander

    ...i would like a 1911 9mm..

would you sell bhp9 to finance 9mm conversion on colt commander?

what are the advantages of keeping bhp9 (besides the 9mm) when one has a 1911..

    are conversions less reliable?

    thoughts?

    thanks!

The easiest 1911 I ever shot was a 1911 converted to a 9mm. It was a colt also, a gentleman at a range let me try it. I believe it was a full size model 5 inch barrel. Not sure what the bhp is. A quality conversion, done properly should be reliable.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

If it were me, I would keep the BHP because I like the ergonomics of it better than the 1911.

Keep BHP save up for a 1911 in 9mm. Buy a Rock Island if $ is an issue you can have a dual setup in 38Super and 9x19.

Another vote for the BHP. Mine over fifty years old and is still running strong. An excellent weapon.
So I was driving home from the range and I noticed that the scent of warm steel, burnt gunpowder and lukewarm coffee combined and smelled oddly of... Peanut butter?! Man, the Hoppe's is going to my head.

A BHP is an improved/modified 1911, and can accept regular capacity doublestack magazines instead of single stack mags

^^ What he said! I love my Hi Power! I hate the 1911! It feels like I'm holding a 2x4!

                    Always acquire, never sell

ive shot a BHP clone and surprisingly didnt like it as much as a 1911, and i like the feel of the CZ75 over the BHP. call me weird.

                      I own 2 9mm 1911s and 2 BHP.

You will not be disappointed with a 9mm 1911, they are a lot of fun at the range. I would suggest you to find a Springfield Loaded 9mm over the RIA conversion because of all the features that came from the factory. Getting a complete 9mm slide is not cheap.

I am going to have to say keep the BHP, and save for a 1911 in 9mm. I love my Hi Power's as they are heard to beat.

Not a BHP fan. Sold everyone I ever owned.

Still have the Colt 9mm Commander though.

                          YMMV.
