school me on car shooting system.

Ive read mixed reviews about the system and how its not complete or just a scam. However as someone with a ccw it seems like a very appropriate system. I've been practicing drawing from concealment and their stance is surprisingly comfortable. I thought presenting right handle and using your left eye would be awkward to do but it seems very natural.

What are your thoughts on the system for ccw?

I took a few classes based off this style and it works for me.
You do get some odd looks at the range practing though.

Level one was kind of slow.
    Level 2 was way fun

I took the CATS level 1 class a few years ago (now thinking about it, damn that was awhile ago ), and at first it felt a bit awkward to do but I could see the benefit to using this method where it can apply. When first starting out in that position, my aim wasn't as good in the beginning and it took some getting used to, but eventually I got it down.

Fast-forward to now, and when I've done a low light class that involved room clearing in a shoot house out on the range, I found myself mixing in some of the CAR technique with how I held a pistol when maneuvering around the halls and in tight spaces. If I had to shoot from that position, I knew what to expect and had some training & experience with it.

As for the CAR system being a benefit for CCW, sure any technique taught and learned will always help and is just an extra tool/skill that you now have in the bag. But the little CCW-type training I've done (only a 4-day pistol class at Front Sight), I really don't see where you will be using the CAR technique unless you drew and shot your pistol, and you're now in the scan mode looking sriund and have to engage another threat nearby at the last minute. In the scan mode, I find myself holding my pistol in a CAR-like fashion.

      Just my $.02 on that.

CAR is primarily a sheaf of CQB techniques. It is remarkably effective if trained correctly and practiced. If you want to find out how it works for you, the best bet is to find a course taught by qualified instructors (someone who received their instructor cert from Paul Castle or designated by him) rather than someone who just "knows the CAR system". I've been exposed to the system for a number of years but wouldn't presume to instruct anyone else in it.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Pretty interesting website, the next time they're out this way is in Feb. Might just have to take a class!
