Seems like the default area is New Jersey. I'm trying to change some of the settings for my local area and get into some of the other features of the map but it doesn't seem to respond.

Anybody familiar with isidewith.com? What kind of political group are they?

There's a +/- box on the top right you can click to zoom in/out. You can also click and drag the map to other areas. Sf and Oakland areas a bright red.

I see mostly blue (lack of support for gun control) with small slivers of yellow and orange (strong support for gun control). Those small slivers are influencing the gun laws that affect us all.

Just goes to show the false sense of security folks get living in the big cities. Most of them think big city, police will always be there to help me, I don't need a gun and neither does anyone else.

So glad I moved out of Oakland.

I don't think there is any big surprise here.

The heavily red areas (very pro gun-control) are either progressive strongholds or cesspools of crime or both:

The progressive strongholds:
San Francisco, CA
Berkeley, CA
Los Angeles, CA
New York City, NY
Boston, MA

The cesspools are:
Oakland, CA - (former murder capitol)
Chicago, IL - (current murder capitol)
Philadelphia, PA - (Camden is one of the most dangerous cities in US)
Washington, DC - (former murder capitol)
Trenton, NJ - (one of the most dangerous cities in US)
Newark, NJ - (one of the most dangerous cities in US)

What was a bit surprising to me was that the state of Maine was pro gun-control (orange).

What is truly sad is that gun control, for the most part is driven from the areas where there are large concentrations of population and money (SF, LA, NY, MA) and the rest of the middle is at their mercy.

I compiled some data and rather than post graphs, here's the summary:

Total 44% for, 56% against increased gun control.
Bigest factor regardless of race, income, or education seems to be political affiliation.

Political Party:
Republicans, Libertarians, Constitutionalist 9/10 against increased gun control.
Democrats, Green, Socialists 8/10 for increased gun control.

Ethnicity:
Caucasian, African American, Native American, and Pacific Islanders 6/10 against increased gun control.
Asian, Other 50/50 split for and against increased gun control.

Income Level:
Less than $200K ~6/10 against increased gun control.
More than $200K 50/50 split for/against increased gun control.

Education:
Associates Degree or less 6/10 against gun control.
Bachelors or higher 50/50 split for/against gun control.
