    Travel to Nevada while carrying

I have a CA carry permit and utah license but sadly no nevada. When traveling to nevada if I wear my gun OWB im good to go right as long as I stay out of school zones? Does a suit jacket or coat make it concealed? It is a bit hard to carry in just a tucked in t-shirt in the winter.

If I get you right you are planning to open carry ? if so I will stay out of Las vegas my brotha. I heard some funky story while taking ccw class in Reno but that was years ago.
I am sure folks with better and current knowledge will chip in soon.

Do not open carry on Vegas, tourists will freak out and you will end up having a conversation with LEO

OWB no jacket or anything covering and you are good to go. Nobody bats an eye. It's normal. Especially in Pahrump. But as mentioned anywhere on or near the strip area or North Las Vegas and you will have lots of police contact.

Honestly not sure and no need for me to look it up as I have a NV Ccw. I know in class they said that it had to be completely visible and not covered by a shirt etc in anyway. I'm pretty sure they said it couldn't be tucked as well. However I'm not sure and of course information isn't always disseminated correctly on Ccw legalities in Ccw classes. Look up the NV penal code on it and you'll find your answer.

The penal code is vague in california terms but clear in free state person terms. If it is visible it is open carry. There is not a definition of what having the holster iwb amd with the grip showing means but that is plainly open carry in my mind.

Go to Arizona instead. Dress like a fully armed Terminator and people yawn.

I take it the element of surprise isnt that important. I wouldnt open carry.

I'm with you but if it's your only choice you do what you have to. I've done it in Nevada once before I could get out there and get my permit. Situational awareness should let you see most bad guys before they see you much less your gun.

Now unloaded open carry is just dumb but a loaded open carried gun while not nearly as good as a concealed one is a million times better than being unarmed.

Get a Nevada CCW. I took the classes in CA and then went to NV for the paperwork. Very easy. The states I go to a lot - I get the permits specifically for those states.

How's that? I thought the training had to be in state. Still easy though.
