Shipping firearms thru UPS, never done it before, help please

Incorrect, an off roster gun can be shipped to an ffl. It will need to be SSE'd again though.

Again? Assuming that it has been SSE'd previously? And assuming that the receiving FFL is able and willing to do a SSE and it is done before the end of the year. Not all handguns can even be SSE'd.

Ok i'll play, not always correct, can be sent to FFL for exempt person such as LEO with no SSE.

First the FFL will need to agree to accept a gun from a non FFL. UPS/FedX for pistols. UPS/FedX/USPS for rifles. Last Garand I shipped USPS to the east coast. I just put it on the counter they weighed it and took my $34. I think they asked if there were any liquids in the box. Before shipping I got a scanned copy of the FFL and also looked him up on the ATF web site to make sure it was good. The buyer didn't want to pay for insurance so it went without.
