Grabbed a Python for under a grand!

I know, "say what" with the price of these guns going up and up to see a python for under a 1000.00 I had to grab it!
What it is is a 4" blued python with original finish and custom made grips, nice tight lockup and a fair ring on the cylinder. Price out the door was, $837 inc. tax and dros.
Now here's the kicker they have one more there, it is a 6" refinished with orginal grips in very good shape, same price. These will not be released untill next month as they are in lock down for 30days.
    Anyone Interested in the 6"?

    No pic's so don't ask!!

The shop is in Lancaster, Ca.

you need to ask to see it as it is not out for sale yet, they will hold it with a deposit for you. any of the guys can show it to you.

WOW! That is an amazing price!

The cheapest I've seen so far is $1050 OTD for a two inch barrel made in 84. Had a few knicks here and there though.

If the other one has been refinished check to see if Colt did it. Refinishing takes away all of the collector value and is usually done because it needs to be...so check for pitting and such. Take the stocks off and check it out well, just because it's a Python doesn't mean it can't be a beater.

The shop owner said it was a very good job on the refinish, I did not take the grips off but I'm thinking I may go back and look at that one too, If I do I'll check that out.
No the one I got is far from a safe queen and thats good to me as I want a shooter. It was owned by a retired LA cop and has "Fuzzy somebody" custom grips on it. they say he too ws a LA cop and made them to fit the hand of the shooter, they are real nice and when I get it I will post photos.

Fuzzy Farrant. On S&W revolvers for these grips to be used a piece of the gripstrap/frame had to be milled away sometimes IIRC. You may want to look under the grips and see what is going on there.
