How to Get Base Plates off Glock Mags

I bought some new G17 mags from a CGnr here and want to change the base plates to Taran Tactical ones for competition but cant get the base plates off. Are they are sealed or something? How do I get these base plates off?

I don't regret burning some bridges. I regret that some people weren't on those bridges when I burnt them!

If they are epoxied, good luck.

If they aren't, just push in the dimple on the bottom about half an inch. Then pull the plate as hard as you can till it slides off.

They have little grooves they slide I to locking them into place. Don't be afraid to give them a tug.

You probably are not squeezing the sides in enough or pushing the base plate hard enough... or both. Don't be afraid of breaking it. I recently took a few apart for the first time and it took more effort than I expected.

Hold it against the edge of a counter, floor plate facing away from you. Take a screw driver and push in the dimple, holding the dimpled insert an inch or so down in the mag, then lever it forward. Pops right off.

are these baseplates going to be adding capacity to 10 rnd mags or just bigger base plate?

I would give the OP the benefit of the doubt and assume he's NOT an idiot and will be using these +0 baseplates.

Or, maybe he's an leo and will be getting the +4s...

I replaced some glock 42 baseplates with Pearce pinky extensions, and those side dimples held the stock baseplate on pretty tight. I really could have used a 3rd hand.
